Friday, 7:30am, at the Starbucks near Wynyard station.
This morning, I had a coffee before work with Laurent, a friend I haven’t seen in a year.
After some months of settling and job-hunting in Sydney, he got a position early 2018 in a Planning Consulting firm. He now works in Brisbane on a Fly-In Fly-Out roster.
Here is his advice for other French Engineers looking for a job:
“Just go go go.
Push the doors, get them shut in your face and push more doors.
Don’t wait until you’re ready.
Nothing will happen if you don’t push doors.
Do not wait until all his planned perfectly, all details are sorted and you’re ready.
Push the doors as soon as you can”
